Chalk one up for the good guy

Not sure if anyone has mentioned the story on CNN about the retired Special Op's homeowner and his prison guard wife taking out a armed robber in their Florida home. Sounds like the robber got some street justice and the wife broke a rifle after striking the robber with it. They mentioned the robber "begged for his life".   

One bad guy off the street and eventually his accomplice and the good guy and gal are fine.

It is nice to see a story that has a good ending.

That is something else. I am glad it worked out for them. I guess it is difficult to say what you would do in that situation. I hope I would have shot them both, instead of beating on them.

 The fact that the fleeing robber fired 2 shots one of which hit the guy says they did NOT handle it properly, it was sheer luck he was hit in the shoulder instead of the head or chest.

Why would they let the guy go in the first place?

The article said that the good guy took the perps gun, his girlfriend cracked a rifle on him and that the good guy took the perp outside and bashed his head in. When they whipped the BGs butt and then let him go, did they give him back his gun or fail to check to see if he had another?

How did he shoot the good guy while fleeing if his gun had been taken?

Monday morning quarterbacking is a lot easier than scrambling to avoid the sack.  They are alive, and one bad guy on the way through the system.  Maybe not a good win, but a win all the same.  Job well done,  and while I may evaluate and critique for my own defense, I won't be little.

After this story and the one linked below, I am convinced that ammo is so expensive and hard to find,that people have resorted to using their guns as blunt force weapons instead of using their supply.
