Disaster City Rifle Sling
« on: July 01, 2009, 07:31:37 PM »
What was the make/model of the rifle sling used on the bolt action rifle in the disaster city episode? I have been looking for something like that but have yet to find one that will work as well as that one appeared to work on a bolt action rifle.

That sling is actually an "improperly" set up Browning nylon sling. When properly set up, it is easily adjustable in length.... not sure which model. I bought a couple of them about a decade ago and they've lived on several rifles. I simply had it set up very loosely. With the rifle slung that way, you can shoulder it in a variety of positions and carry it comfortably at something approximating a low ready (with the stock near the shoulder firing arm shoulder. There is also enough slack to transition the rifle to the off shoulder if necessary (shooting around weak side cover, for example). Lastly, it you want to use the sling to help stabilize the rifle in a standing or seated position, all it takes is a couple of wraps around the weak side forearm to tighten it up.
