Fight on the basis of the cost of enforcement. Play up the angle that a broke state can not afford more agents to enforce new laws.
That will even bring support from the commie areas.

Paying for enforcement can and will come later. All they want is the law on the books, they'll worry about the rest at another time. These people have very long memories and are willing to move very incrementally - tiny increments at times - because they know the laws will never go away.

The state's name is misspelled. It starts with a K.
The more I read about this state the more I think it needs to go ahead and fall off into the ocean as predicted by geologists.
Actually geologists don't predict California falling into the ocean. That's not how these plates move. However, Los Angeles will someday be in the area that San Francisco is now and SF will be up around Seattle. Since often the insane laws that California passes become the trends nationally, I could see why everyone else might wish for this state's demise. I hope I'm out of here before any of that.

This will probably come down to Scwarzenegger's pen. We'll have to let him know that this is burden on the law abiding and not on the felons that it is supposedly written to stop. The hearing the other day featured a load of cops supporting it as well as the author of the bill, who didn't sound very intelligent. California needs people to spend money for tax revenue. Spending money on ammo helps the state, but if this is signed, I can't do pistol matches with 50 rounds a month.
