Fiber Optic Sight for Colt Target Pistol 22lr
« on: October 21, 2009, 02:50:13 PM »
Dear All:

I have started shooting Steel Challenge with my Colt Target pistol. It has a rail on top with an adjustable rear sight, and a post front sight that mounts with an allen screw on the side of the rail.

I would like to put a fiber optic sight on the front (like I have on all my other competition pistols) but I can't find any info on where or what I need to get. I've put some model car paint on the front, but my old eyes like fiber optics!

Can anyone advise??

Best regards,
DrNo

Welcome Dr. No!

Have you checked out Colt direct, or Brownells.com?

Beyond that I would say go to your local gunsmith.  I know that not everyone is as lucky as me, but I have one guy here that is great.  Speaking of which, drop m25operator a personal message.

I just checked Williams gun sight and they don't make fire sights for it. Too bad because they're good sights.

This may sound really dumb... but have you tried using a dab bright colored nail polish on the front site?

I don't care for fiber optic front sites, they distract me.

He's trying to match fiber optics that he already has on his others.

Right now, I do have a dab of red model car paint on the front sight.

I've tried Brownell's, but not Colt direct. I'll check it out.

One of the things that makes it difficult,, is not knowing specifically what to search for or what to ask for.
