Best wishes to that officer for a quick recovery.  Sounds like the BGs didn't use hollow points which was a blessing in this case, or that was another part of the miracle of this man's survival.

Reads like really small caliber, 22, 25, 32, maybe 380. Amazing.

Hope they go to prison for life. Let me guess,.....they all have a previous record?

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

There are all kinds of stories about 9mm's not dropping people after several rounds as well (guys walking to the ambulance and getting in themselves after half a dozen shots put in them).  BUT, the fact that "He has a bullet lodged between his brain and skull."  I'd agree with it being a .22, .25, or .32.  I'd be very shocked if it were a .380.  My money is on the .25.  .22 doesn't do any damage going in (his eye socket was busted up), though crap ammo is DEFINITELY slow enough to not exit the skull or rattle around inside, and .32 would have done a little more damage I'd guess.

They caught all three guys in the robbery and never did say anything about the gun.  So we're likely to never know.  :(
