I feel your pain, I am on the little island down under, any long range shooting would probably sink a fishing boat  :(
It seems after we pointed out the mainlanders geographic fo-pa and pointing out that we are actualy on top of the world  they stole all our land away......bastards

 ;D

least they had the little map of Tasmania there

I only found out about that at High school, and ever since then  I have always wanted to get there ;)

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

FQ, not that you actually need any additional incentive, but north of you a bit is the Manatee Gun and Archery Club with a 1000 yard range.  They have a chunk of steel out there that goes "bong" when you hit it--or so I've been told.  I have never heard it ::)

The range is a couple of hours south of me, so it ought to be a couple of hours north of you.  They have a website, www.manateegunclub.com  and they have a mapping function on the site so you can get from where you are to where you want to shoot.  If you ever decide to make the trek, give me a heads up and I'll try and get myself and Haz down to shoot at with you.
“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle
