I'm starting this over here to give us more latitude than RP gives in the other area. Not a bad thing, but I'm looking for side drifts rather than strong focus ... which is good in many areas.
Last week I stopped at a gun shop I visit occasionally and saw the owner whip out and use a knife. I liked it much better than the cheapos I have been using. He said it was a S&W that he had in another case. I looked and found the ExtremeOps.
I am not a big fan of "made in China," but try and find anything that isn't, and the $17.95 price was attractive for trying and practicing with.
I really like the knife, it opens easy and fast (outside of being point down and I have been carrying point up), and feels good. I need to practice more and am getting better at handling the point down carry, but am still not sold. I may switch back. Maybe another cheapy will give me a better feel for what I used to have, and I can decided from there.
I am looking for reviews on this knife and how it compares to American made knives of what brand. In the big picture there has to be more to the knife price difference than the $80. What will I notice from long term carry and practice for that money. By the way - I am willing to pay more to support Americans and my local people, but I do expect a value for that.
