When maintaining the liberal teachers union became more important than teaching our kids. I don't know when our education system became politically motivated, but it is truly a detrement to our society. This is a prime example of why we need to get rid of the unions in this country, and go back to people getting, and more importantly keeping their jobs due to merit, not tenure. No where is this more important than the education of our youth.
