Just purchased the Ruger 10/22 Carbine. :P  Can't wait to get out there and spend my $12.00 and shoot 550 times ;D(ha ha)  This is such a neat little gun.  I've always wanted a 22 rifle.  Growing up in the 70's most of my buddies had one.  I begged my dad but he said "why buy one, all your friends have one, just buy ammo and use their guns"  BTW my dad is a cheapscate if you couldn't tell.  ;)   I'll post of couple of pics after the weekend of plinking.  Who knows I may even spend another $12.00 and shoot 550 more :o

You are going to love it, me and my bud's took a new 10/22 out with the on sale bricks (bought 3) and figued that would do it, Nope, wnet and bought 3 more and then it got dark and left the range  with the 10/22 wanting more! Load em and blast em! Next thing you know you will be buying little metal targets that swing, reset wobble and do all kinds of fun things, funny how much money you can spend on cheap.P.S. Don't tell my wife  i said that.

Take a good look at a dueling tree.  Accomplishes the same action as a swinger, good for accuracy practice, and if you have a buddy with a .22 it is a blast to play with!

I love my 22's. Marshal used to give me a raft of sh** about the fact that they are actually my favorite to just take out and fire away.
But that is because I had 22's all my life and that was before I ever had anything else..( other than a shotgun of course) so my 22's are what I cut my teeth on.
Then............ then a few years ago, I surprised him and bought him a little 22 Browning..  Guess who shot their first squirrel and acted like a 10 yr old kid? Yep... you guessed it.
And now when we go out to just river shoot ( you know.. turtles, sticks floating, snakes) guess again who grabs the 22 and heads to the truck?
 Yep.. Right again..  ;D
So no matter what caliber a gun is.. they are still fun to shoot.. But you're right.. you can buy lots of ammo and do lots of shootin'  for very little $$.
I have Rugers too, but now I think I need a few more.. LOL
