What else would you call these ?

This ties in with Haz's post about that prick buying up News papers and suing every one who ever quoted him

SAN DIEGO – Ousted Agriculture Department employee Shirley Sherrod said Thursday she will sue a conservative blogger who posted a video edited in a way that made her appear racist.

Sherrod was forced to resign last week as director of rural development in Georgia after Andrew Breitbart posted the edited video online. In the full video, Sherrod, who is black, spoke to a local NAACP group about racial reconciliation and overcoming her initial reluctance to help a white farmer.

ASHINGTON – A criminal investigation into the leak of tens of thousands of secret Afghanistan war logs could go beyond the military, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday, and he did not rule out that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange could be a target.

"The investigation should go wherever it needs to go," Gates said

I watched the video and the first question that came to mind was wondering what she was about to say when cut off.

In agreement with Ann Coulter, the video was not "edited".  Nothing in it's content was changed.  It was an intact excerpt of the entire speech.  All excerpts are taken out of content and it is the responsibility of the viewer to make good judgments about what they see.  While publishing misleading excerpts might not be considered ethical, it is not illegal.

BTW, if you listen to the entire video, note that she is receiving applause and approval right up to where she starts to point out that her view was wrong and that blacks need to adjust their view as she did in helping the white farmer.  She gets no applause or any comments of support...only silence.

That might be taken to show that those present are racist, cheering about a white farmer not getting the help they need and then falling silent when they find the white farmer did get help.

There is another explanation.  When she was telling about how she felt about helping a white farmer when so many black farmers were in need, it was a pep talk.  Folks cheer and applaud a pep talk.  When she started to point out that their attitudes need to change, it became a lesson.  Folks listen and learn when they are being given a lesson.

Is the NAACP a racist organization.  Maybe, but they cannot help but be a racial biased organization since they are all black.

If it had been a group of whites they would have been burned at the stake. Public outrage would have forced all involved to move and change their names, (except for the "brave blogger" who broke the story )
But because blacks, as a group, are obviously incapable of meeting "white" expectations of behavior, they are held to a lower standard .
Think that's racist ? It is the whole purpose of Affirmative Action.

I absolutely agree.

Had the races been reversed, I'd be making the exactly the same comments.

And I agree totally about Affirmative Action.  True equality cannot include special treatment.

I was and administrator with a public school district and hired employees.  I was often "spoken to" for not hiring enough Blacks.

My answer was that I picked the applicant I felt was best qualified.  If it had been a Black applicant I would have hired them.  If you want me to hire a Black applicant, send me only Black applicants and I'll choose the best one.
