Really?

Pageing through a catalog and saw this.

"BLOWGUNS ARE ILLEGAL FOR SALE TO RESIDENTS OF CALIFORNIA AND MASSACHUSSETS."

I'm not sure if I'm more shocked that "blowgun crimes" are so common in these states that this ever became an issue, or that a politican seriously thought their citizens weren't responsible enough to even own a freaking BLOWGUN!   :o

Sorry, but WTF?!?  REALLY???  Are rubber bands and paper clips next?

When I was a kid we used to hunt lizards with these. (Ten year old boys are bloodthirsty little creatures. Deal with it). What we did was take about 2 1/2 to three feet of narrow PVC pipe. We then went and shamelessly stole those little construction flags, the little guys with the thin metal flag poles. We cut them down to about 6" and sharpened them on my dad's bench grinder and model glued a cotton swab on the end. Those things were scry accurate. You could hit 4" lizard at 10-15 feet easily. Good luck banning something that requires one trip to wallmart and one to the hardware store to produce. ::)

Do kids today even have the creativity or energy to come up with stuff like this?  ;)

In elementry school we'd tie giant thornes to the end of sticks, dip them in "poison berry juice" and play "King of the Playground".  Used our Barlow pocket knives to cut and shape the sticks.  YES, POCKET KNIVES IN SCHOOL!!!!  :o  Getting poked with a thorn was one thing, somehow '70's kids weren't stupid enough to actually use the knives on each other.   :-\

My first knife (it was for me, not my brothers) was a Cub Scout knife my Dad bought for me when I was in the 3rd grade. The first time I wore my Cub Scout uniform to school it was exposed on a belt clip my Dad had rigged up for me. I even used it for show and tell. I guess the fifties was a better time to grow up in.

Up until fairly recently (after 68 ) ALL gun control laws in American history were intended to disarm blacks, to keep them in their place.
Pot was outlawed so that towns could lock up Blacks and "Mexicans", (any one of Hispanic descent ) Whites drank, they didn't use weed yet, and leave more jobs for whites.
Remember, NFA, and the Bureau of Narcotics came about only to make jobs for Prohibition Agents who were soon to lose their jobs.
