The model probably took hundreds of hours to build, but 15000 Pounds for a REPLICA helmet !  
Even with the diamonds that's a butt load of money for a helmet you can't actually use.
It's a butt load of money for one you CAN use.
But the model is darn nice work, wish I could do half as nice a job.

For five grand I want to be able to drive Danica, or at least one of the poster models. Look at it this way, if these idiots weren't relieved of their money they'd just hurt somebody with it.

I have a 1/18 replica, at one point it was worth almost a grand (I paid $130 for it). But, it was a limited run of Dan Gurney's winning Cobra Daytona Coupe, and the limited run of that model drove the market up. When I went to sell it though, the market had tanked thanks to the sub-prime silliness that ultimately cost me my job, early market failures, bailouts, etc. Last I saw I might get - before fees etc. - maybe $250 for it.

OTOH, that was a few years ago - I should look again . . . . .
