Comparing Micro-9's....Single-Stack vs. Double-Stack
« on: May 12, 2011, 07:43:07 PM »
Now that most of the single-stack micro-9mm's have made their way to market, I started to look at my Springfield XDsc 9mm and think....most of the single-stack micro-9's (LC9, Kahr PM9, etc.)  still have the same slide width as their double-stack cousins (SR9c, Glock 26, etc.) Also, their height and length seem about the same. I even slipped my XDsc in my pants pocket and walked around with it...seemed to fit pretty well (need a Nemesis, though). I'm not sure if there would be any advantage to choosing a single-stack micro-9 over a double-stack micro-9....but I wanted to ask those here who know...

What do you think?

Thanks in advance....  ;D
Why, yes....I'm the right-wing extremist Obama warned you about... ;D

I just wish Texas was as free and independent as everyone thinks it is...   :'(

I have a GLOCK 26 - carried it for years - there are some times my dress code just does not fit the 26 - Iv'e recently handled the LC9 and it looks like it will WORK for me  - I think the only reason I have not sprung for one yet is I have not seen the SOLO

But all in all for me - just losing the width from Dbl stack to Single make all the difference in those special  times.
(presently when the 26 can not be carried, I run a S&W 642 w/Crimson race)

I've been able to get my hands on all of the micro 9's to which I will add the SA EMP and would probably not choose any for pocket carry.  Not because of any problem with the individual guns but because of the way clothes fit me.  I will not wear cargo pants and cargo shorts are a borderline thing.  Also, they all seem heavy to me, even empty!  I have a Colt LW Officers ACP that I carry and I don't even know I have it on so I am not sure why the others feel heavy. I would choose holster or Fanny Pack carry for any and all of these!  JUST ME!  I have yet to shoot any of the SS's so have no thought there.  I know I don't need to use the thumb safety but the Solo TS will not work for me and I am waiting to check the Ruger again.  For me the SA XD9 SC and the Ruger SC9  or Taurus slim SS are my choices.

FWIW
