I LOVE the pistol alf worked over and changed out the barrel on.  Being an engineer, stuff like that is what its all about for me!  VERY cool!

I've got plenty of fun stories I could regale.  Yet, as I think of them.  They're pretty much ALLL incriminateing...   :(

I "was accused of" successfully taking a shot at, and hitting ;D a running target at 80 yards with an RWS 5G magnum pistol with open sights a few weeks back!  Wanna talk about "hold over"?!?!!!   I have nothing more to say on that matter.

Trying to steer my daughter in a better direction.   ;D  She's gotten involved in the ROTC rifle team, and the Cival Air Patrol.  Both use mostly break barrel rifles.  I'll try to find a pic. and the name of the one she prefers out of several models they use.  Remeber it's laminated weird colors...   :-\

She tells me it's the best she's shot.

If you can go as high as 800, you have a lot of room. I was thinking lower and everybody wants to brag about fast their guns are, particularly in .177 They fudge the numbers by using synthetic pellets to get the posted results as well. Lead is almost always 25-50 fps slower. Its really unnecessary unless you are hunting or wanting to spin steel field targets. Most Olympic style guns are around 500 fps. Still, that's what sells rifles apparently, but if you can take a higher powered gun, your options for a decent quality shooter go nowhere but up.

Here's another option M58. Airgun Depot has some refurb Gammo youth models coming in at around 525fps. They are plastic guns, but the accuracy is supposedly very good and the price is righ at $55. Caveat emptor, but I'd take a look.

You guys on here are damn distracting - Actually I have been getting so many phone calls I can't do what I want to do, so ...

I found the above rule book put out by CMP, and starting on page 8 it not only gives specs, but actual approved guns.  Good nighttime reading material.

You don't live next door to BillT?

I have several air rifles, but the one I use the most is a chinese 22cal side cocker I bought about 12 years ago. I take it outside with me (and coffee) on Sat and Sun mornings to zap starlings and grackles who get too close to my martin box. I have a target set up by the pond for when my grandkids come over, and we go out with the BB and scoped pellet rifles and put holes in "shoot-n-see" targets.

My 4 yr old grandson loves the 6 shoot burst on my Steel Storm BB gun.
