Happy Father's day!
« on: June 19, 2011, 06:27:53 AM »
I love today! I got to get the old man a gift, a house brand Gander rod and reel combo so he can go chase snook and I came in at less than $100 including powerline! He loved it, it was a great package and best of all he finally got a 7 foot rod. I've been pushing them on him for years, but he finally said "Ok" when I shoved it in his hands and he likes it. So, its a win on that front. Plus, I am not getting any gifts or subpoenas myself as I know how to wear a scuba suit ;D. Seriously, a very good Father's day. I got to give and did not have to receive. All is well in whoville. Now we just need to figure out where to go on a trip. I'm a homebody and like hanging out in the Glades/keys, but he wants to travel. He makes the call. Still, I am stoked that I finally got him to own a seven foot rod as he would never buy one and they really are a step up for distance casting than a six footer.
FQ13 Who will say that the Gander Mountain in West Palm is the coolest place on earth. My sales person was an amazingly hot 20 something with a tattoo of a salt water trolling lure in rainbow colors on her left fore arm. Forget salesmanship, I was openly drooling and she could have "sold" me three wheel barrows worth of crap and I probably wouldn't have noticed. I mean seriously, a hot chick with a fishing lure tattoo who disses your choice of a reel because she likes the $300 model and can give five reasons why? Where on planet earth do you find that? She had an engagement ring on and her fiance, a Mr. LB, (standing for lucky Bastard >:( ;D) is to be congratulated. No Sh$T guys, this girl was hot beyond hot, tattooed with fishing gear, tanned, a tackle geek, and totally knowledgeable about what was going on offshore! If I were ten years younger or a whole lot richer..... 8)

I love my 7' Key Largo Rods, for inshore fishing.  ;D

I am looking forward to my 16 year old, 6'2" eating machine son arriving for the summer this coming Thurs.  Shooting, fishing, eating, pool-time, upcoming fireworks in the yard, MORE expending of my ammo, and just enjoying having him down.

They grow up, and too old, too fast.

Happy Father's Day DRTV!

My kids and grandkids just left. Whew! Now I can relax. This was the first time ALL my grandkids could be here at the same time. It's great as long as I have time to recover. I got some good gifts, the best being some hand made cards from three of my grandkids. Four granddaughters and two grandsons (so far), the oldest 14, and the youngest six weeks old.
