A local maker is putting something similar out.  I've never had much luck with IWB carry because of my body configuration (spelled FAT!) but, since I've slimmed down a bit I might have to give one a try...can I borrow yours?  LOL

Give that Crossbreed a couple of weeks of carry and give us a review.  I've been looking at one for a while now myself!

Are the cuffs required issue or just for fun?

 ;D

I'm not carrying a 1911, but I love my crossbreed for my glocks.  I ordered it for my 19 about a year ago and loved it from the start.  The more you wear it, the more it shapes to your body and becomes a part of you.  Although I can easily conceal my 19 under just a t-shirt, I got a 26 last November for deeper concealment since I often carry around other people who may call me out on it and occaisionally in iffy spots.  The same holster works for both without a problem.  I recently got a 20, and the holster works for it too (although it is a little tighter).

Just figure out where you want the gun on your side, how deep you want it to sit and what cant.  After that enjoy.

The only negatives I can think of are: 1. The clips still show with the shirt tucked in. 2.  Your pants will develop a worn spot where the clips are and some around the gun.  A whole can develop, but it takes a while.  Basically, you develop a "holster ring" much like the classic "skoal ring" in a back pocket.

I did cut off the extra leather and holes beneath the front clip after I had fully committed to a position.  It started curling a little, and I figured I didn't need it.

Bic,

Enjoy your holster.  I don't think you'll have too many problems with it.

For the record, I'm about 5' 6" and 220-230 lbs.  Not exactly skinny.

I'll certainly make an assesment and report in after I've worn it for a while, the current 2 days in an air conditioned house, although it feels great, is hardly a fair 'real world' test.

The 1911 is at present very tight in the holster while I'm wearing it - not so much 'off body' - and Lady Bic is out of town with her hair dryer until Tuesday so I won't be wearing it in town until I've made some adjustments to the Kydex.

I bought the 'horsehide' leather version because it was $10 more.....and more is always better...isn't it? :-[
More Later, thanks for all your replies.........even you Pecos Bill :D

Everything and everyone that has one, wears one, swears by it.  As a southpaw,....I usually get shafted on the local fodder at gun shops/shows.

However, I also change my carry firearm. From a Taurus M85 Ultra Lite in an IWB DonHume, to a S&W M&PC in a Galco Summer Comfort.(which also accommodates my 6906 9mm.) To a P3AT Kel Tec, in a Desantis Nemesis Pocket holster. To a very nice IWB from Uncle Mike's for my FN9 or M&P full size. When it even gets cold here, for about a week, my shark skin Mitch Rosen, for my full size 1911 is like a body glove of fit and finish. (I do miss NC for flexibility of climate carry in that regard).

The reviews and research on the Crossbread are very positive, considering when you first look at it (from a swampy S. Florida perspective), as it's too big....i

In shorts and a shirt, the ability to distribute more of the pistol weight evenly across the belt really seems to help more than hinder.

Let us know, Bic, how some time works... If it is as positive as you and others seem to agree, I will get one. Probably via Crossbreed's website), for a Lefty version.

Thank you for the post....

Make sure not to lose the key for those cuff's,...I have extra's.... ::)

BTW, is that a Spyderco Knife in the pic?

Thanks twyacht. I actually tried to buy it direct from Crossbreed but their site was acting up, as soon as I hit 'buy now' or whatever it was the whole thing froze up. Good ol' Larry P. had one in stock so I lucked out.

I have cuff keys everywhere - SO SHOULD ALL HERE........I'm just sayin'....

The knife is my EDC Benchmade Griptillian 550.

I use a custom job from Tucker leather.  It looks just like the Crossbbreed.  I found it before I knew about crossbreed.  Does anyone here know a good custom leathersmith?  I have a idea for a concealment holster I think will take off.
Give me liberty or I'll get my guns and get it myself.

Been wanting to pick one up. Just have other things that require my funds at the moment but once I get a chance I will order one for my G30SF.

langiosandy is a member here that does custom holsters. Haven't seen him post in a while. But here in the archives he posted his work...
