RUGER 380 LCP
« on: April 21, 2008, 08:14:10 PM »
Hello All,

Just back from shooting my new Ruger 380 LCP for the first time.

The sights are small... But if you take the time to line them up...

Everything goes in the same hole!

The brass flies out of the little gun like I have never seen before! :o

Brass is riped out the gun and flies through the air maybe, 25-30 feet height or more and easy 25  to 30 feet to the right and rear.

Talk about a fun little gun.

I am going to love this little gun.

Thanks Ruger!

GS

I hope Ruger will make it in .40 S&W too!

I have had the LCP for a few weeks. First time out could not for the life of me figure out where the brass  had gone. 35' away!
shot 50 rounds. I do better with it one handed. Whit the two the off hand takes a beating on the trigger guard. The second time out ran 100 rounds through the little wonder. It definitely needs to offer some help for my old eyes to pickup the front sight. Today I went to run another 100 to 200 rounds through it, when on the 40th round the trigger did not return. Took it home and found the trigger pivot had broken. Will be calling tomorrow for warranty work. 140 rounds is not a good sign. Hope it is a fluke.

Ruger will take care of you...

I wore out a Ruger Mark 2 once... The pistol was way out of warranty... They replace the bolt and lots of other parts, re-blued or black it.... Sent it back to in a few week... No charge. Have a good! ;D

People forget that the boys at Ruger are Shooter too... They won't let you down...

No problem the part is in the mail. They called just to verify my address and said it was on its way.

Back again from shooting my LCP with 90 gr. JHP's...
I was grouping shots on the end of a 2X4 nicely with the little gun.
The LCP is a tack driver too by the way... Fact is, I shot a nail head into a pallet a little deeper.
The 90 gr JHP pushed the nail thur the 1X4 nailed to the 2X4. The nail was push about 1 1/2 inch's thur the back of the 2X4 the hard way!
I could not find round without better tools... :(
I was surprised to see the .380 reload do that! :o
Then I took to shooting vegetables  ::) with the LCP using 90 gr. JHP's... ;D
I know... ::) But, potatoes blow up like clay pigeons!
Golf balls only took off only about 12 to 15 feet along the ground.
Out of 100 rd's shot. I could only find one brass to reload again... O well.
I sure had fun today with a pocket gun.
I don't think I be giving up my 357 sig. for self protection...
But, the Ruger LCP will be me with everyday.
Now I am thinking...
Better than poke in the eye with a sharp stick. I would guess... it's a lot more fun too!

Thought you would never ask...  ;)

They gave the LCP a "A-"!

Over the Walter USA PPK VAH38002 .380 "C".

And the Taurus PT138BP-12 .380. "D"

Called the LCP a P3AT Clone.

Also, said "The addition of a snagproff slide catch made handling the LCP safer and more convenient".

I have not had time to read the full report yet...

It's about a 7 page report, on the .380's.

I did notice that the shooters on this forum already new what was ups with two pocket guns... Anyway.
