Ruger SR9 recall update? What's the skinny?
« on: May 21, 2008, 09:14:55 AM »
I know this has been asked under other threads (which I can't remember the names of so I started a new one) - Does anyone know what's going on with this recall?  After the recall was announced it has been complete silence - at least I haven't been able to find any new information.

Does anyone know of anyone that has even gotten a shipping box from Ruger?  It's been six weeks since I registered and all I've heard is "thanks for registering."  A little information would be helpful.  I mean, did they have to do a complete redesign and qualification of the trigger?  Are they waiting on materials?  Has anyone seen one that isn't in the 330-xxxx series?  Seems like they could just replicate the trigger from a non-330-xxxx series (if there is any).

This is a nice gun and I want it to work right.  I can be pretty patient but I need to understand why I'm being patient.

I'm in agreement with your sense of being left out of the loop.
I've had my SR9 for about 2-1/2 months and it's been recalled for most of that. No communication except, "Sign up for the recall". What I heard in the very beginning must be true....that the new trigger set isn't INVENTED yet.

I hate to whine about things, but they're still advertising the SR9 like it's the best thing since sliced bread. I'm out $500 more or less for something that I can't use and I'm unhappy. The "free" magazine isn't going to help me out a bit either.
I'll be looking at other brands.
I know they are sponsors of DRTV, but I'm not the least bit impressed with Ruger 2008.

Thank you , sir.  I suspect you're able to reach a little higher up that corporate ladder than the average SR9 owner.

You are a gentleman and a scholar and there are damn few of us left. ;D

Thanks, Marshall. DRTV has brought together a diverse, active group of enthusiasts that the manufacturers should pay attention to. We represent a cross section of the 2A crowd, and they would do well to consider our concerns and opinions. Fortunately the fact that we are all together here maybe gives us a voice that is a little more audible to the industry. When Marshall, Michael, (and I'm sure Marshall'ette) bring something up to the manufacturers, they speak with a LOT of input behind them, and hopefully the industry listens.

Thanks again for putting this whole thing together.

Actually, its prob the close relationship that Marshall, Marshallette (I love the pun in that), and Michael have with the manufacturers that gives us such a powerful voice. Yes, the industry listens to them, and fortunately they all listen to us.
