Bowling Pin Practice
« on: January 14, 2012, 07:51:10 PM »
For Christmas I ask for a package of bowling pin targets.

Beware of the person who shoots a revolver.  They make their shots count.

if you cut a template from a piece of masonite or thin plywood, set it up on a near vertical easel, you can get a bunch of copies out of a can of cheap spray paint... of course if you happen to have access to a high speed copier at work....

Saw these by one of the target companies and the kids always want to know what I want for Christmas.    I already have a template for spray painting, but paint is expensive.

The kids also gave me 500 NRA D2 targets (1/2 size Bianchi) so I'm fixed for a couple of weeks at least.

Shooters Express, outside of Charlotte, NC, had a Pin Tourney several years ago,...5 pins, against the clock...For prizes, awards, etc,...

I thought I did pretty well, with my S&W Model 411, .40 cal.  My time was less than 5 seconds....All pins hit....

Than a Han Solo guncase "ringer" with a .38 Super Blaster showed up and rung our bell in less than two.... :-\

Kinda like this "hustler",....but a great shot none the less....

Watch carefully....... the last pin is hit before the first pin hits the ground.

I hated him....but admired it.... ::)

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

The trick with those, Peg, is to see if you can get it to swing 360. I've got a 22 target I could do that with when my eyes were better and I was in better practice.

The indoor range I belong to has steel pin targets if we want to use them.  Just pull the rope to reset.  Not sure if they are .22 only or CF also.  Have a plate rack too but can't remember cal. restrictions.  Both are at the 50' mark.
