I know desiccants are necessary, here in the eastern part of ND especially, more humid than in the central or western parts I used to live in.

No propane in the new house, all electric, just to calm the fears.

Of course, if the power is out and I want to reload, I could always use a match to check the bottle and keg labels right??

Eastern Dakotas - both of them - are very different than the rest of the state. Flat land mostly, and close enough to the rest of the midwest to have a different ecology - farmland, not cattle too. Even the two-legged denizens are different over here - more urban, I think they are the ones who keep sending our idiot liberal congress-mopes back election after election.

Thats interesting, as it happens I'm currently reading a biography of TR who had 2 ranches on the Little Missouri river.

He had a lot of loaded 50 cal, and shotgun ammo. Plus he was a avid reloader, several kegs of asst. powders. 1/2 mile might of been over kill, but there were some pretty big booms going off when we got there.

To reply to the original question, I have heard of no Federal restriction on loaded ammunition, but there is a powder restriction. Also there may be, like here in Texas, a black powder restriction as it is indeed an explosive, I'm not talking about black powder substitutes. These restrictions could be local, and their storage may have restrictions such as " can only be stored in an explosion or fire proof container" defined by somebody.

Gotcha...the loaded ammo wouldn't have been the biggie. The kegs of powder would have gotten the lions share of attention, esp. if they were stored in a type of locker/magazine that wanted to build up pressure before it let go.
