+1 Tom and I wouldn't be surprised if there are more dumb asses waiting in the wings.

That's the saddest part, due to ignorance these fine people are being smeared with the same brush as their ancient enemies.
I would be quite ambivalent had this happened at a Mosque, but the actual guilty group never seems to face the consequences of their actions.
Instead the anger is taken out on a group that has been fighting Islamic fanatics twice as long as we have.

Absolutely right, Tom.

Shortly after 9-11, a Sikh gas station owner/operator in Mesa, AZ was shot to death by a dedicated American non-thinker who yelled something like, "Go to hell you Muslim trash."

I have no problem with those who shoot, maim, or kill Muslim extremists.  But Sikhs aren't part of that Muslim extremist group.  As was hinted in your post, the Sikhs have been fighting Muslims almost since Muslims began.

My deepest sympathies go out to families and friends who have lost loved ones to this nut bag.

At least this time the perp  made his way to hell in  an expeditious fashion.

The Sikh Temple shooting is being labeled "domestic terrorism" (I'd say misdirected hate crime )
Meanwhile, the Ft Hood shooting by a guy yelling "Allah Akbar" while shooting US service members is classed as "work place violence".

I'm currently watching the Communist News Network's coverage and the talking head "reporter" (Erin something) just CAN'T seem to get anybody to blame the guns or lack of gun control.

The Police Chief said bluntly that thousands of people buy firearms everyday and don't ever use them on another person.

The ER doc she tried to goad into saying guns were the problem shut her down too with "the numbers really haven't changed and if people didn't use a gun they'd use a knife or other weapon."
When seconds mean the difference between life and death, the police will be minutes away.

You are either SOLVING the problem, or you ARE the problem.

Suicide bombers don't use guns.

Our Gov. ordered our state's flags to half mast today to honor the dead and recognize how terrible this is.  What about the hundreds killed in our own state each year?

I spoke with our mayor once about our city's flags being lowered for an active community member who volunteered many years including over 25 as a vol. firefighter.  His response was that he felt the honor was deserved, but since the were no longer a department member and not killed helping it opens up to who and when do you do it for.  I fully understand his comment, and to start arbitrarily lowering the flags for these events makes me ask why we have them fully raised anymore.

Our feel good society has blurred the lines between true honor and pushing agendas to the point that respect and honors are loosing their meaning and value.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.
