Come on guys.

If the Department of Education can have a SWAT team, everybody else can buy ammo.

Will work for ammo

Here's what NOAA says they are going to do with the ammo and who it is really for.  Following their explanation, this works out to < 350 rounds per agent.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

See my post.

SSA is ordering 174 thousand rounds of hollow point.

Sheesh.

There are close to 150 individual police/security agencies within a 50 mile radius of DC.  Every Fed dept has thier own that only have jurisdiction on that Depts property.  Even the FBI has a police force that patrols the one block around the Hoover Building.
When seconds mean the difference between life and death, the police will be minutes away.

You are either SOLVING the problem, or you ARE the problem.

Finally got a reply;

August 29, 2012

Dear Mr. Bogan:

Thank you for contacting me regarding federal agency purchases of ammunition.  I appreciate hearing from you.

As you know, several federal agencies have recently contracted to purchase large amounts of ammunition.  For example, the Social Security Administration purchased 174,000 rounds of .357 hollow point ammunition for its 295 special agents to utilize while on duty carrying out law enforcement actions such as investigating disability fraud and executing arrest warrants.  The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) ordered 46,000 hollow point rounds-originally listed due to a clerical error as destined for the National Weather Service-for NOAA Fisheries Office of Law Enforcement agents.  The agencies have indicated that hollow point ammunition is standard issue for many federal law enforcement personnel.

As the former Attorney General for New Hampshire, I support ensuring that law enforcement officials have the equipment they need to carry out their duties.  I also believe that, given our current fiscal crisis, federal agencies should ensure they are allocating resources responsibly to best accomplish their mission.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me.  As your Senator, it is important that I hear from the people I represent regarding the current issues affecting New Hampshire and our nation.  Please do not hesitate to be in touch again if I can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,
Signature
Kelly A. Ayotte
U. S. Senator

They have that so the guys on the inside of the building can continue to spy on their coworkers.

Friend of mine worked in the Hoover building. He said it was amazing to watch and listen to the 360 degree backstabbing.

Sorry guys, I put in the request for the ammo. You should see some of the rough neighborhoods I go through while storm chasing. The bangers in the hood like shooting at my Jeep while sipping on their 40 ounce malt liquor. It is scary out there....

Just kidding.

Does make you wonder? But only 350 rounds per officer is not very much at all when you consider training, rotate in and out, etc. I try to keep at least 500 per pistol myself.
