forget every thing about his past, school, drug use  or whatever. Same with Zimmerman . The only time frame that matters are the seconds when TM is bashing GZ's skull into the concrete. Everything before or after that is irrelevant in terms of GZ being in fear of his life at the moment he defended himself.

Not quite true.

If Zimmerman was threatening TM in the seconds before TM fought back, that changes the whole picture.

But there is no evidence of that occurring.

It could help Zimmerman out a lot and he needs it. He is the second dumbest guy in Florida right now (I'll post the first). He lied to a judge about his assets for bail. Not a big deal under normal circumstances, but given that his whole defence is the he's a decent law abiding guy who was afraid for his life, WTF was he thinking lying under oath? He has to take the stand as its his whole defense. And the prosecuter can say "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, he lied under oath to this court once to get out of jail, what makes you think he isn't doing it now"? If Trayvon was drugged out its a godsend to Zimmerman (who still should have stayed in the damn truck).

Last I heard the lying under oath offense might not have been a deliberate act.  The money in question was money donated to a Zimmerman defense fund and they did not think the purpose of the donations was to pay for bail.

If they honestly felt paying bail would be a misuse of the donated funds, I don't see that as lying.

The missing factor in Zimmerman's case, or at least publicly missing, is the training and instructions given as a leader in the local Neighborhood Watch.  This training is given by local law enforcement, and it puts things into a different category when it comes to his following rather than just reporting.  I'm sure this will be a part of the defense.

In the NW groups I've had any interaction with, the "instructions and training" was:
These are your neighbors, try to get to know them - at least by sight.
Look out for one another, call 911 if you see anything suspicious.

The only thing that PD did was bring a cop car or K9 unit to help with the dog & pony show. That's where I came in - "Hi kids, wanna climb on the firetruck?"
The "Leader" was the guy who wanted the NW in the first place and made some phone calls to get the cop car/firetruck to said dog & pony show.
Oh, we also passed out some phone stickers that you could write you address on (not a bad idea since the babysitter may not know your address) and it had a big red 911 on it in case you forgot the number.

Might be different in some locales but this really wasn't training.  The 911 operators are trained to ask the questions in their queue and be able to type that info while asking more questions.

I'd be doubly out of luck, hard of hearing AND I can't actually "type".

There are groups that have been instructed to "observe if safe to do so."  In this case it was "safe" until a certain point.

However, we don't know what the training was, how he interpreted it, and what all actually happened that night.  Regardless, the public already had the hemp and scaffold ready.  Guilty until proven ... oh damn it!  Guilty!

Is this queu for 911 dispatchers like a script or decision tree?

I bet there is big money in integrating a 911 system with whatever software produces the script/decision tree.

Back when I was in the Air Force as an " oh" in the command post I was the writer of checklists.   ::)

OMG!

The checklists I had to write were so inane or intricate.  Me personally?  It was a crutch for people who couldn't think through the process of their job.

I am not kidding when I say that every shift I was amending the checklists.  try as I might I couldn't plan for every eventuality.

More like decision tree from what I've seen but actually a little of both.
The dispatchers aren't trying to 'solve' anything initially**, just trying to pull as much relevant info as possible out of often times hysterical callers.
Where is he at, what's he/vehicle look like, what's he wearing, is there a weapon, etc.

**EMS is different - they are trying to solve the basic problem, i.e., CPR instructions over the phone for the severely non-functional.
That is very much an algorithm or decision tree.

National Assoc of Emergency Dispatcher protocols are pretty specific as to what you can and cannot say.  If you are a certified dispatch center you have to grade employees on a random number of calls a month for QA purposes.  You must rate 90% or better VERBATIM from the cards.  The only time you can "stray" is to rephrase the question so someone can understand, not lead them to the answer.  The questions led to a priority to send a unit, heart attack-pri 1, stubbed toe-pri 3 ect.  We were certified in Fresno EMS but the PD and Sheriff's Dept were not.  They could ask whatever they wanted to get the type of call and location.

BTW we regularly had to give CPR instructions to home health care "nurses" that would freak out when we started talking about getting the person on the ground and starting CPR.
When seconds mean the difference between life and death, the police will be minutes away.

You are either SOLVING the problem, or you ARE the problem.
