Not your father's China?

This seems atypical of the 'China' I grew up hearing about........ Thirty years ago the guy and his family would have been bulldozered right along with the house.

There's even a name for the buildings that remain standing as their owners resist development. They are called "nail houses" because the homeowners refuse to be hammered down.

Of course I could put a foil hat on and say it's just propaganda to make us all feel warm and fuzzy about the 'little guy'.......   ;D

Or it could be to make us feel bad about our own "eminent domain" laws.

Luo Baogen, wonder if he's a distant cousin ?  ;D
