That whole GM debacle was about future pension benefits and mismanagement.  You have two morally corrupt entities, management and labor, one who wanted the moon and the other who refused to say no in lieu of passing the problem to someone else.  Neither were being responsible and each played to their own greed.  

Well, someone else got the problem and that was the taxpayer.  That would be me.  

Thanks a lot.  Enjoy your damn pensions and country club memberships I helped pay for via the kindness of the IRS and the faux president they both helped put in office.

The actual owners of GM were investment firms, Cerberus was one of them, those are the firms that invest 401K funds, so your retirement fund was embezzled by the seizure, then you got screwed again with the cash pay off to the Unions.
And you didn't even get a kiss.
