Here is my contribution to the the cause...

I, as a gun owner and avid shooter, am deeply saddened and sickened by the recent event at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. Like everyone, I ask the question, what is the world becoming? It is a tragedy that goes beyond words and my ability to provide an explanation.
As I listen to the suggestions coming from President Obama, Vice President Biden, Senator Feinstein, Mayor Bloomberg and the Brady organization I fear for our country. I fear that all of our hard fought freedoms borne of the sacrifice of others can be overturned by emotion and the motivation to “do something.”
It appears that the above mentioned politicians and organizations believe it is responsibility of law abiding citizens to pay the price for the wrongs perpetrated by law breakers, people who would do evil and those needing care from mental health professionals.
However, you and I both know that there is no action that will prevent this from happening over and over again. It is a given that no matter what freedoms we sacrifice for the Sandy Hook victims, another evil or mentally disturbed person will kill again.
I ask that you choose to protect freedom and my rights as a gun owner. Please, do not give in to “feel good” politics.
