I'm sure he's a fine man, but we don't need this on the Board right now..

I just glanced at the ballot last night. I think he was on it, but I don't have it in front of me right now.
If he is, his time as a Board member has passed. Sorry if he's a friend..

I do not believe that he is the only questionable Member of the NRA Board, The Bios. that where in with the ballots really do not say where they stand on current issues at hand. Also way too many DC insiders in my opinion. I also feel it is time for the NRA to be shaken up at the top.

That doesn't appear to be a recent interview because several of the YouTube comments are years old.  He is, however, still on the Board.  His bio doesn't mention current views... I would hope they have changed.

I just got word back from Sheriff Jim Wilson on this one, and he said that the fella had changed his mind on it. I've got alot of respect for Jim Wilson, and take him at his word, but I just have a really hard time thinking that one can come to his first conclusion, and then change his mind. I sure would like to hear it from his own mouth on this one, because there's really no room for this when we're at war (and we truly are at WAR) with folks whose sole goal is to take away that right..
I think ALOT of Jim Wilson, but "swear, and be damned", I don't like hearing what the man said on the second half of that interview. The video was posted 6 years ago. I don't know how old the interview is. It looks like it could have been in the 70s from the background colors..
Maybe we can all take a "wait and see" for awhile on this, but I've got to mail the ballot before long..
I hope he takes it seriously enough to know that we do too..
(Or are we just getting played with the conveniently timed release of it to coincide with the ballot?..)

PS This guy seems older than dirt. No offense to our seasoned citizens, but it is beyond time we had some hard charging young bucks at the NRA. Wayne LaPierre comes across as a tired old middle aged white guy, the embodiment of the embarrising dad in every comedy. Lets get some new voices in there. We need to speak to the twenty and thirty somethings if we want to grow rather than decline. The NRA cannot, and must not look like an AARP meeting. We need fresh young faces who can use the social media tools and appeal to the the folks who kept Ron Paul afloat. Say what you will about the man, but he stayed in Presidential race longer than he should have. Same with BO. We need that. Hip, appealing to a new demoghraphic, but staying tied to the base. There have to be a few of these folks out there.
