As President Obama prepares to head to Colorado on Wednesday to push gun control legislation, some are calling into question the validity of a key statistic he’s using to tout his message on near-universal background checks.

As the old saying goes, "figures don't lie, but liars figure".  Obama will pull a number out of a passing gas cloud if it will support his mantra and make the sheep go "OMG".   :o

Politicians lie, who knew? It should only be news worthy if Obama says something truthful like,"Chairman Mao is my hero".
We have to remember, only our side deals in facts, the antis live in a world of spin, smoke and mirrors.

I remember watching the Sunday morning talking heads one time when the big issue was how many jobs Obama "created".
within 15 minutes flipping channels I heard Axelrod say 30,000, Wassermann "Claptest" Schultz claimed 300,000, and Pelosi said 3 million.
Remember the week just before the election when the unemployment rate dropped below 8% for the first time since the Bush administration ?
They did it with no increase in the percent of work force working, and an increase in unemployment claims.
You can tell when a Dem is lying, their lips are moving.

What about prior to 1964 when a 12 year-old kid could mail order a 22 and have it delivered to his house?  What was the gun violence then?  Surely there must have been blood flowing in the streets all across America?!?!

IF you look at gun violence versus the gun laws intended to prevent crime it seems that the two grow together, so can we conclude that gun laws cause gun violence?  Surely this is rooted in more common sense than "Global Warming" and all scientist agree that I'm right.  Surely...

I read a study done not too long ago on mass shootings in the US and shooting deaths as a whole.   they have gone down since the 30s.   one year in the 20s( I want to say 23)  had more mass shootings then we have had in the last 40 years.   I wish I could remember where I saw the link.   it was from a non gun web site and it was a link to a sci journeral.

The biggest myth I've seen in all of this is that anything that the government doesn't control is labeled as a loophole.

Magoo you are a man of wisdom.  I remember those Sears Robuck catalogs and wanted to order one of those semi-auto 22's.  Our new, tolerant permissive society is great now isn't it?????  Up until then I remember people rolling up to the Ponchatoula Feed Store to buy dynamite to blast stumps and use for 4th of July fun.  Things sure are better now, eh????  Can you imagine being able to do that today in this progressive, liberal, socialist, communist based democrat led state?  No way we can do that today.

The biggest myth I've seen in all of this is that anything that the government doesn't control is labeled as a loophole.

Brilliant.  A simply brilliant statement.
Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom.
It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.
