Serious BBQ people do go crazy over it.  However, it doesn't matter to me what other groups think.  There is a difference between clips and magazines, and in some cases it is important to realize that - AR's use both!

And, it's entirely possible to barbecue with a grill.

It is not possible to substitute a clip for a magazine (or vice versa).

It doesn't matter to me which, but using both is a sign of either an idiot or an anti .

Most fields have their own vocabulary.  

Those well versed in the field know and use the correct terms.

Oh, btw, barbecue is an old native american Indian word that means, "Drunk in the back yard, by a big fire."  (Sorry, I don't speak "PC")
