Magazines are just like ammo, you can never have too many or too much.

I see mags as disposable items that wear out. I want about 5 more for hard use guns than I will ever wear out.

As many as I can lay my hands on. Every time I come across a magazine that fits one of my guns at a reasonable price I buy all I can. I figure a bare minimum of 8-10 for every gun that requires them.
