No gun stuff, no rounds downrange (we had a tornado warning the night before, things a trifle torn up and soaked), so nothing interesting at all. Even had to treat myself and 3 others to a mediocre dinner at Timberland Lodge.

So I ordered a Samson front sight for the Sig 556, along with watching the Magpul website banners change every few seconds. They are cool.I have so got to change my life . . .  ::)

I had a great Fathers day, I got the day off from work, Got to go to a CAS Shoot that I rarely get to go to anymore, My Wife told me to use her car to go (110 miles 1 way, Her car gets a lot better MPG's) and when I got back She had a steak dinner with Banana pudding for desert, It just don't get much better than that. ;D ;D

Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage. Where are we now??????

Thanks Haz, nothing like having a good friend around!   ;D

Trust me, I need to change my life, long story. I had one, a good one, things went south at one point. It is oddly enough completely within my control, and I will be changing things this summer. Had to wait for directions from the One who is in control of my life, as it was His idea in the first place.

Long story . . . .   ::)

Set up at our outdoor range, just in time for a 2 hour T-storm delay, cleared up, and had a great afternoon with the wife's total endorsement. That was "cool". Called my Father, he's sending me his Colt Gov. .380, its been stored so long its "gummy" as he called it. I'll work that out, he's owned it for 20 years and its still not had 200 rounds through it. 8)

The other cool stuff was hitting our metal plate targets at 55 yards with my S&W 1911. Something about that sound!

Had a great dinner of Baby-Back Ribs with Bone Suckin Sauce(the best), and a couple adult beverages with the better half.

Kinda quiet, some may say kinda sad, but a good day, glad to be here.

My condolences and prayers go out to the family of Tim Russert, I have his book "Wisdom of our Fathers", and his other "Big Russ", a decent man, family man, and a man dedicated to his career. Regardless of political leanings, those are honorable traits to be admired by anyone.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
