They just polled the Libertarians that answered the phone. The rest were at work.

Mornin', Mac.

Gonna be a hot sweaty one here today.  It's already 79 degrees and 79% humidity!

As to the polls.  I find that most people decline to take them so the results are skewed at best.  Look at most of the recent elections v the polls - not even close.

Afternoon Haz. Sorry I missed this earlier. Been out poisoning Kudzu. Since you brought up the alleged privacy/secrecy of the ballot box, (Well, it was on my mind) when I went to the polls last time, I had to give my name. The lady tore out my pre-printed name tag, placed it on a permission to vote form, which I took to the next lady, who wrote down a sequence number from form 1 onto my ballot.

After voting, my bar coded ballot was eaten by the voting machine. I hope the machine voted for my choices. Anyway, it sure seems that I could determine who voted for whome if I had access to their records.

Hazcat, how hot did it get over there?  It was around 94 with 36% humidity here in the desert.  No fun.  Typical is 100 to 105 with about 10% humidity.

UPDATE: Rasmussen: Libertarians favor Obama over McCain, 53/38

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/libertarians_favor_obama_and_other_looks_at_election_2008

Talk amongst yourselves....

From the story:

In June, Rasmussen Reports asked 15,000 Likely Voters if they were fiscally conservative, moderate, or liberal and if they were socially conservative, moderate, or liberal. This created a total of 16 possible combinations (not sure was a fourth option for both questions). However, 87% of voters fit into one of seven combinations. Libertarians, defined as fiscally conservative and socially liberal, are the smallest of these seven combinations.

The Liberatarians were a manufactured quantity along with others.  The labels were placed by the reporter in search of a story (polls are snapshots taken to create news).  Just for a point of reference, a friend, a lefty/liberal friend would describe himself as "fiscally conservative and socially liberal", but the funny thing is he always thinks there should be a law, or government should solve that problem etc.  Grains of salt my friends.  Most news must be taken with them, but I digress.....KNIBB HIGH FOOTBALL RULES!
The person who has nothing for which his is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
