Uberti revolvers?
« on: July 11, 2008, 02:42:05 PM »
Just wondering if anyone had experience with this company.  They have some mighty fine looking machinery (engraved cattleman made me feel all funny inside ;D), but I have no idea about quality.  As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

Aldo Uberti in Italy is the major manufacturer of "Cowboy guns".

Companies like Uberti USA, Cimarron Firearms, Taylor Firearms, they all import their guns from the same manufacturer - A Uberti. The Beretta line is also A. Uberti made products. Throughout the years thanks to cowboy action shooting and a demand for better quality products, we now experience a better product from the Italians.

Thanks for all the info, Marshal!  I have shot auto loaders for years, but have recently developed the "need" for some rootin' tootin' shootin' gear.  Just don't know what I'm gonna buy first. :-\  So many guns, so little time... and dough :( (probably because I buy so many guns ;D).

I had an older Uberti Schofield, very cool gun, 45Colt

Had to chamfer the barrel inlet, had lots of spray back, little lead bits; Also desperately needed a trigger and hammer job, but it was old enough that spares were all but nonexistant.

In any event, Uberti has been and is quality.

I had heard that Berretta bought them outright to make the Stampede

I own two Ubertis and I really like them. A peacemaker copy and a Remington 1875 copy that I really love. Both are chambered in .45LC. I have had no trouble with any of them. The 1875 is very sweet because the extra weight makes even stout loads to feel soft.

SwoopSJ,
I don't know how close to Cincinnati you live, but if it's not too far for you to travel there's a gun shop called Target World that has anything you want in Uberti or any other brand of handgun. They carry a full line of rifles, handguns, shotguns, archery and have an indoor range for handguns and archery.

Even with all that overhead, their prices are reasonable. :)

I just got a Cimarron Thunder in 357. Was a spure of the moment thing.  (wish it was in 45). The gun shoot great, the trigger had been re-worked. Only problem is that it has the birdshead grips, they are kinda small and hard to grab.
I forgot to compensate for the natural rotation of the earth.
