Anger at gun-free parking lots at both my jobs...
« on: August 07, 2014, 11:29:02 PM »
Sometimes I get really furious that both my full-time employer and the university I teach at part-time forbid me from carrying a firearm, or leaving one in my car.

Then I remember I live in Los Angeles county and I'm not rich or famous, so I can't carry legally anyway.

I can't wait til I win the lotto so I can retire in The United States.

I work at a church and, in Georgia, up until this July it was a felony to carry at a church/synagogue.  Fortunately, they changed the law, at least partially.  Church management can opt-in to concealed carry, which of course few will do.  But the big deal is they reduced the felony to a misdemeanor with $100 max fine.

We gave up nothing in Georgia to get this and some other changes through the state legislature.

Universities are still problematic.   But we're slowing getting there.

I'd move to Arizona, but I can't stand their "dry heat".

My company, which is HQ'd in California, has an anti-gun policy in the office as well.  But since I work from home 99% it's less of an issue.

One thing you might consider is that it's probably better to fired than killed if you are ever in a situation where you really need your firearm.

Unless there are MANNED metal detectors it isn't a gun free zone.

So its ok to to break the rules?  I tell you what go to your boss and tell them your rules suck and I am not going to fallow them...let us know how that works out for you.   Being fired for a weapons policy violation makes you just about unemployable.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.
