Oh My. What have I become
« on: August 11, 2016, 06:28:48 AM »
A wanna be competitor.

And I got this for my 929 which is at the smithy's having it's nosed bobbed.  But here it is with my 686, which I will use this weekend in an ICORE match.

More about this "holster" later.

Is that a politically correct term? ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Ok, so you can get the gun out fast, but after 6 shots does it matter LOL!!  Talk about going out whole hog for competition!!

You're right Bidah, at my level it doesn't make a lot of sense except on very short courses.

Well how about that.  Tomorrow's GA ICORE match will have two very short stages.  One is 6 plates freestyle and one is 6 plates strong hand only.   I'm right at the cusp where the draw can be a significant amount of the final time for something like this.

You're right though, the more shots the less significant the draw time becomes.

BUT:  I can't go to IRC looking like a GA Red Neck (which I am) sporting some WalMart holster.   i got's to look the part.

The real reason was for buying it was there just wasn't a good alternative to the Safriland 002.

The revolver is a weapon of a modern day knight. Not as clumsy or random as a bottom feeder; an elegant weapon for a civilized society.

ref Georgia Redneck (from a UF Alumni)... when we started shooting the Ga State USPSA matches back in the early days, there was a gentleman that wore bib overalls with no undershirt, shot a SW M25 pretty well, and with an early morning temperature of  28F was barefoot (with purple feet)... no comment was made about his sun tan

)... when we started shooting the Ga State USPSA matches back in the early days,

So Les and anybody else going to the GA State USPSA match on 8/26-28?    I'm shooting on a Friday, all day, squad, #51.   Seems a few of my revolver buddies will be shooting with me.   Sad to say though I'm not ready to take my 929 out just yet, and I don't want to further handicap myself by shooting a 6 shot, so I'll be shooting and M&P in Prod.    :(

My reasoning is that regardless I'm shooting a bottom feeder, I'm still getting practice in planning and shooting challenging stages.
