simulator fun
« on: March 15, 2017, 08:57:07 PM »
the new high end shooting range in Tarpon Springs, Fl has a $500K + 180 degree panoramic simulator... laser and CO2 operated rifle and pistols... the scenarios are interactive, and the operator can change the dynamic... if you command the bad guy to drop the tire iron, he can be made to comply or not...as part of the yearly membership you get an hour of simulator time, so a friend an I used 1/2 hour the other day... working through active school shooter, traffic stop, terrorist and a variety of law enforcement oriented threats... other than shooting a good guy that came from my 180, I did a pretty good job... if I were a LEO administrator, I would make sure that each of my officers ran through the program at least twice a year....I can tell I'm seriously out of shape, holding up a Glock for ten or so minutes at a time is strenuous... if you get a chance to use one of these things, you will have a smile on your face when you're done...

So you shot the wrong guy when he surprised you ? Don't let it bother you, Wild Bill Hickock did the same thing.

Sounds cool.   Done the FATS simulator which of course is a flat screen with C02 guns.  Nothing as cool interactive as this since the scenarios and outcomes were fixed.
Will work for ammo
