Well I did end up with a 17 Fireball.  And I like it.  I like it a lot.

We zeroed it at the range today.  200 yards kills golf balls every shot.

 8)  It will be a lot easier to find brass to make into .17 Fireball than it would be for .17 Hornet.

I also have an XP-100 in 221 Fireball.  So, I have the parent case to the 17 Fireball.

I also have an XP-100 in 220 Fireball.  So, I have the parent case to the 17 Fireball.

Even better. You don't have to make them from .223. That would save a lot of time and effort.

Cool.
I bet it'd tear a squirrel's existence up pretty good.

if its any thing like my 17 rem mag, it turns them into a fine mist.  4k fps is just nuts.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

40 grain 22-250 is flatter than this 20 grain 17.  However, the 22-250 I have is not as accurate as this 17 Fireball.  I'm really pleased with the thing.  It uses much less powder than the 17 Rem Mag.
