One negative about the Kindle Fires is the software and app selection. Their proprietary nature and desire for you to buy everything means that many of the standard apps that many folks use won't load or work on the Fires. I have two Fires, a 1st and 2nd generation and many of the apps and such that work on my RCA Android tablet aren't even offered on the Amazon store app. Every time they do a mandatory software update (you have no say so in the update, it just happens) then there are two weeks worth of glitches on sites like Youtube until they work the bugs out.

My wife has a 10" RCA tablet with detachable keyboard that is basically a scaled down laptop. I like it better than any of them. Heck, it is easier to run than our Win 10 laptop.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
