CZ 527 in 6.5 Grendel
« on: October 21, 2008, 09:41:35 AM »
CZ is asking via a poll on their website about future offerings in their 527. The Grendel and the 6x45 are among their choices. If you would like to see the Grendel from a mainstream company please vote for it. Not to mention that it would make for an awesome deer rifle. It is interesting that the 6.8SPC isn't among the choices(are they already planning on offering one in the near future?)

6.5 Grendal is probably the most useful chambering they could offer. They already make plenty of varmit choices and the 6.5 could do that too if you need it, but it's the best choice (among those on the poll) for deer. It would be nice to have a tactical bolt gun in 6.5 to compliment a 6.5 AR upper. JMHO

I think the .17 Remington Fireball would be nice in a pistol, but for a rifle my vote is 6.5 Grendel.
It's 42% now.

I only have 1, the 527 in .223, with the original, humpback stock and I love it. It accounted for my largest white tail to date, net
151 Boone and Crockett, not my rifle of choice for this type of hunting, but what I had when the shot came, Barnes 55grn through the neck. I do want a 7.62x39, but the 6.5, would be a sweet low recoiling, but accurate round, High ballistic coefficient as well.

Vote cast.

Once upon a time the only centerfire rifle I had was a 5.56 mm Colt AR-15. I loaded it with 64 grain Winchester PSPs and took it deer hunting. I didn't even see a deer, but the same rifle in 6.5 Grendel would be a much better performer if I did. Wolf has ammo that costs less than half as much as Alexander Arms ammo. The lack of cheap ammo was the biggest strike against the Grendel before that.

The 527 is a sweet platform, too. I like the heck out of the carbine in 7.62 X 39.
