Saw something today that made me want to cry...
« on: November 12, 2008, 06:24:37 PM »
I  was working in the bad part of town today( you know the place that I won't go after dark even if I'm armed to the teeth).  On one of the corners known for prostitution, I saw a girl that was maybe 14 selling herself.   I drove around the block planing on picking her up.( to try and talk her into letting me drop her off at a run away shelter thats run by a friend or at the very least buy her a meal)  After 4 red lights, I made it back and she was gone... some SOB must have picked her up.    :'(

Bad deal.  You have to wonder where are the parents or what did they do wrong to force this to happen.

Unfortunately, the world does worse than that, a yacht crew engineer friend of mine, just came back from Phuket, Thailand, and girls and boys, as young as 8 or 9, have their PARENTS living on the street pimping their own children for money.

The society and culture of the USA, and the world, has continued to slide downward into an abyss, that it may not recover from.

Well, your heart sounds like it was in the right place, TAB.

Its tough....

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Tab, I know your were thinking good thoughts but, man oh man I would be oh so careful doing something like that! So many ways for something like that to go bad. My wife wouldn't even let me take the babysitters home, back when we had sitters that couldn't drive themselves. She was too afraid of quick and easy false accusations. I guess because one of her EX-friends did that to someone.

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

yeah I know, after thinking about it... if  roving cop would have seen me, it would have been very hard to explain or worse alot of "johns"  get robbed at gun point.  The good news is I have a stack of refrences that would all sware on a stack that I would never do something like that and that I was just trying to help.   Every thing from the for mentioned shelter Worker, to educators and even a judge... not that any of that would do any good on the side of the road.  Atleast I would have not let her in the truck if she did not want my help.

It truly is sad when even someone who tries to do good is suspect and at risk from multiple directions. Good idea man, just be careful.

It's a harsh world and usually someone trying to do the RIGHT thing gets F^8Ked worse than the little prostitute.
Then you got scum like that Haggard character, supposed to be doing the right thing , but actually doing everything but.  :(

Yes TAB, I'll slam you and call you bad names on politics , but what you saw is just plain wrong.

One winter day I saw a girl walking down the street and I thought it was a friend of mine so I stopped. It looked just like her from behind with the snow blowing around. But it was a girl who looked like she was 12 when I saw her face. She just happened to be wearing the same coat as my friend. Since I was already stopped I offered her a ride. She wanted to sell her body to pay her mom back some money she stole, or something like that. I may be a pervert but I'm not a pedophile, so I tried to talk some sense into her then I got the heck out of there.
