Check out this video, near the end he takes a shot at a 1 gallon milk jug at 600 yds. You can see the bullet as it travels to the jug.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." [Samuel Adams]

I don't care how slow it flys or how much arch, anytime you can watch a bullet fly it is a fun shot!

How much arch do you call Lobbing, most anything at 600 + is lobbing, maybe a little less, everything but a .50 bmg, or .416 Barrett, has significant drop at that range, the .338 Lapua, included,  A ballistic coefficient of .450 to .500 at 3400 fps, still drops 9" or better, and that is as flat as it gets with firearms, and indeed is flat, with the proper zero,  you would still have a 1/3 mil + to stay in the bread basket, 8". If you shoot NRA high power rifle, medium range starts at 600, long range starts at 800. And the velocity has dropped to 2300 fps at 600, still enough to do the job, that's like an sks at the muzzle. But it's not a laser beam.

Who says that about .308? It's not like a .30-30 carbine.
