HEY GUN LOVERS  (1911)  HAD THIS MASTER PIECE FOR YEARS,  I AM RETIRED NOW AND THOUGHT I MIGHT LET MY XD40 REST JUST A LITTLE BIT AND TRY THIS QUEEN OF THE HOP ::)  BUT I;VE BEEN TOLD IF I SHOOT ANYTHIG OOTHER THAN MATCH AMMO I WILL DAMAGE THE GUN?  TRUE /FALSE???  LOVE THEFORUM :o :o  XD40LOVER,

XD you should not have any trouble with hardball, unless the factory recoil spring has been replaced with a lighter one. The 2 weak points are the roll pin for the rear sight, if it is an Elliason, will break especially with hardball. The collet barrel bushing can break lock up the slide. These are things that come along after a 1,000 rounds or so. You can replace the roll pin with a solid pin, don't remember the diameter. The collet bushing can be replaced with a match solid bushing as well, if your not going to shoot it a lot, these things may never show up.
