PPK!
« on: November 19, 2008, 05:59:16 PM »
You're right about slicing and dicing the web of the hand, but it was COOL to carry around.  Mine was my prime carry gun for 20+ years in a Thad Rybka pocket holster.  I really only retired it when the KT P11 and Kahr K40 came out.  My current employer also has a say in what I carry (H&K P2000), but I never really felt undergunned with the PPK and the hottest loads of the late 60s, 70s, and 80's and half of the 90s (I did say 20+ years).  By the way, mine stovepiped terribly with anything but the hottest storeboughts or handloads.
Unless it's life or death related, it's all BullShit!

Shot a buddy's PPK once. Only once. Maybe it was me as I'm used to really mashing the web of my hand into the tang of my .45s, but I'd swear that particular PPK was made by Ginsu and sold by Ron Popiel.

I only fired mine once. (In my basement. In the city. Where its against the law to discharge a firearm. Shhhssh! Don't tell anyone.)  ;)  Whenever I do some actual shooting I can decide whether to trade it in or not. It's a 75th Anniversary edition so the trade in value should be pretty good. If I like it I think I would like the PPK/S even better.

I never had a problem with mine, some of the older versions were prone to cut the hand, but the S&W PPK/S extended the beavertail and it is slightly wider than the Interarms.  Loves the Speer Gold Dots.

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

I definitely fired an older one. Yours looks like a man with three buttocks - a 50% bonus to the backside. Almost no back end on the one that sushi-ized my hand.
