Outdoor Channel on Defense

I just read in American Rifleman that they're adding a show called American Guardian to Outdoor Channel starting on Dec 31.  The show is going to focus on personal defense.
That makes two personal defense shows in the lineup with Best Defense (or is it The Best Defense?) being the other.  I guess this shows the increase in interest of non hunting gun shows, and specifically personal defense.

For what it's worth, American Guardian was the name of the NRA magazine that ran from about 97-01.  I believe it focused on self defense? So, they may have done the concept first.

I wouldn't say MB is getting copied...maybe but we don't know that and the Armed Citizen series they run in the mags can standalone to feed something like that.  They are both Outdoor Channel, so I would insist that neither was created in a vacuum.  In fact, you could say MB is copying Gresham's PDTV that left the Outdoor Channel...though I seriously doubt Bane's production will be of the same character and structure as PDTV.  No disrespect to Grits' son, but the production company MB has employed should give the Best Defense a world class production quality second to none.

MB, since my credit union is next door to Winnercomm, any chance I could knock on the door and get a sneak peek if you told them it was OK?

Bingo! We have a winner. That was the 3rd different NRA magazine I got and it was good but I like my Rifleman the best.

Any new show on personal defense/firearms  is a good thing.   We might well get more people who don't currently own or carry firearms for protection to do so.
