Over the years I’ve shot many 760’s and its later variants 76 and 7600, etc. I agree with most of the comments except I’ve found them to be fairly accurate as far as standard hunting rifles. When I was in retail, our store offered a sight-in service during deer season. On a good year I would shoot 400 – 600 rifles a season; which gave me a chance to shoot many different brands. While the Remington pump rifle would not set MOA records it was capable of OK groups, less than 3” groups. I did find that its semi auto cousin the 742 was much less accurate and reliable. I also agree that it can be a pounder; the earlier rifles sported a metal butt pad. Shooting one of these in .30-06 with 180 grainers from a bench produced a pretty good smack.
