The side by side pistol is not a new concept. My great grandad had a lovely pair of 20 gauge Parker Bank Guard pistols (Remind me never to visit That bank), purchased legally in the '30s. Sadly, when he passed my great grandmother insisted on turning them over to the police, about 50K worth of iron, that either got melted (or I hope) some cop took home with him. They were sweet, if you were firing buck at about 20' though, and would damn sure get a BG's absolute and undivided attention.

The old "Howda pistols" were sXs Double barrels . The plat form on an elephants back was called a "Howda" people riding in them would carry these pistols in case the elephant were attacked by a tiger. The English versions were often in .577 caliber.

Got to shoot an original Remington 10-bore Howdah pistol an the Vintage World Cup last year...it was pure whoop-de-do! We ran out of  brass-cased 10-bore cartridges and started going through 10 gauge shotgun shells. That, by gosh, is the perfect "car gun!"

I've always wanted an Ithaca Auto & Burglar sXs 20-gauge pistol, ever since I handled my first one at the old Tupelo, MS, "Gun Show" back in the 1950s — acres of guns being sold out of the back of car trunks, folding tables, etc. In its absence, I do like the Bond Arms .410 derringer...pain is your only friend!
