Small Gun Red Dot
« on: March 13, 2009, 07:34:27 AM »
I'm starting two new threads here.  I enjoy what others think of products and reading their advice.

#2 - As I said on another thread, I purchased a Ruger Mark III competition target that I am going to convert for "run and gun" games.  What red dot would you recommend for this?

I want something reliable, but don't want to sink a fortune in this one.  I have a C-Mores on my open gun and air soft, the Burris 235 on my bullseye gun, and a Bushnell Trophy on my AR.

Feel free to ask questions, advise swapping around and new for other guns, anything is open for discussion.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

I've got a MKIII hunter (very similar), tried a few red dots on it.  For run and gun my choice would be, and what I ended up using after it was all done and said, were the factory sights.  There Hi viz, or Fire sights, not sure what brand they actually are without looking.  Keeps the gun balanced, light, and easy to holster.  Just me though, and I'm using mine for small game.  Love it! :)

The "Dr." sight looks nice and small,  Similar to the Burris you have isnt it (micro version of the Eotech)?

The Rugers I've handled that were fitted with Aimpoints seemed OK, and the company has a solid reputation.
