I LOVE MY WIFE AND KIDS

Do to all the recent gun-related killings; I wanted to share some thoughts on several topics that seem to always follow the negatives surrounding guns, and gun owners.

First and foremost, my heart goes out to all the victims and their families.  I pray that I never have to deal with the grief they themselves are having to deal with right now.  I can't imagine losing a loved one to any act of violent rage.  The thought haunts me everyday of my life.  Why?  Because we live in a violent world.  Locally, Nationally, and Internationally.

Persons murdering their spouses and, or their children; children murdering their parents, other children, schoolmates, and school administrators; mentally-ill persons on a murderous rampage killing the innocent; hate groups killing the hated; drug cartels killing informants, to ensure their blood money continues to flow; gang-thug related killings; and finally, terrorist killings.  Anyone who doesn't see this is deaf, blind, or in denial.

Too often I hear people's opinions on why we, as "citizens" should not want more guns in an already too violent world.  Well... the criminals have them already.  That's why!  How are we suppose to defend ourselves against armed assailants if we don't have guns ourselves?  Better yet...How are we to defend ourselves against criminals who have stole them from our very own homes to begin with?

Now with a struggling economy, and unemployment on the rise; the criminal element is on the rise once again also.  As if it has ever been in decline?  People are willing to kill someone for pocket money.  Burglarize homes for valuables, only to sell them to support a drug habit.  And armed-criminals who are willing to break into your house to steal from you, are just as willing to take your life if it means getting away, and not leaving any witnesses behind, to put them in jail.

Let's make more gun laws you say?  We tried that with drug laws, and the war on drugs.  The drugs are still here?  What makes you anti-gun lobbyists think for even one minute, that taking away, or making firearms harder for law-abiding citizens to own; is going to keep criminals from continuing to get them?  Just like drugs, the criminals are going to have their guns as well.  The guns laws in particular are not working!  Lets not forget Columbine, Virginia Tech, and the Amish School shootings.  All three of these places are posted as "gun-free" zones.

Okay, that doesn't work...

So take the signs down, and allow law-abiding, trained, citizens with legally obtained firearms to protect themselves and others, to prevent this from happening again?  School administrators and parents alike should be armed against attacks to our children and ourselves.  Truth be told...school administrators need to be armed to protect themselves from some of the children?

Formally convicted felons, who are not even allowed to posses firearms are still able to obtain them "illegally".  Notice I said, "illegally"?  Why?  Because stricter guns laws don't work!  So if the criminals "are" going to have them, I don't need anti-gun lobbyists or lawmakers, to fight for, or establish stricter gun laws; inflating firearms and ammunition costs, or telling me when and where I can carry a firearm to protect myself, or my loved ones.

Criminals don't know any boundaries, or care about any signs telling them they can't carry firearms.  Because they will, and they do anyways.  But there are laws that prohibit when, and where I can carry one.  And I have been professionally trained to operate a firearm.  I've submitted to fingerprinting, and an FBI background check.  I also paid for this "privilege".  I say privilege, because if I had the rights ensured to me under the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, then I wouldn't have had to go through that process in the first place.

You people who feel safe in your own little worlds need to get educated to facts.  Not media frenzy.  Don't jump on the anti-gun band wagon until you have all the facts, and have sought out the truth about guns and gun ownership.  Go to a firearms class, if only to observe.  At least understand what rights you are giving up, or infringing upon, before you believe in all the misinformed propaganda, and anti-gun rhetoric.  Because at this point, all you've been able to accomplish, is to infringe upon the rights of law-abiding citizen's right to defend themselves against the criminal element living among all of us.  And to allow criminals with firearms to run amuk in gun-free zones.

I'm quite sure that our forefathers never envisioned that the basic rights that were penned to paper "for the people" over 200 years ago; would end up being corrupted by right-fighting lobbyists with agendas, or by corrupt and unethical lawmakers.  And it was these brave men who fought against tyranny, corruption, and oppression to ensure that the people can live as free men, in a free country.  Furthermore, many more brave men have fought and lost their lives as heroes to protect us and our freedoms and liberties.  And they did it with firearms.  Our basic freedoms and liberties were, as they are today protected by those willing to give their lives to ensure them.  That's the reality!  Men and Women are giving their lives to ensure you sleep safely at home everynight with your loved ones.  Are you willing to give up your rights here at home, to defend their loved ones while they're away?

And finally, roll this around in your heads for awhile....Someday the life I may save during a mugging, robbery, deadly physical attack, or shooting rampage, or terrorists attack; may be your own.

Education is knowing the difference when disputing fact from fiction.  Seeking the truth, ensures justice and liberty for all.  Good triumphs over evil when we are strong enough to seek the truth, and stand together.

Very well put indeed.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Very well put!  Did they do anything with it?  I don't watch them much...at least the news.
