An intersting post Phil, and I see this becoming a long thread. I see a couple of problems off the bat though. The first is that in the armed suspect doing nothing scenario, the sbjects weren't told where they were. Eg, is the guy in your back yard or are you in a national forrest during hunting season? Secondly, once you go through the ccw class and are made aware of the law, or just find yourseld holding a loaded gun, things get damn serious damn quick. This sense of gravitas cannot be conveyed in a lab. This is particularly true to a video game generation that is conditioned to "win" the test by taking out the bad guy with zero inhibitions. Real world, its a different story. I do think that folks like Pincus will love this as it points out to all of us the importance of good practical training, from people who know what they're doing.
