Ping, my home club has been hosting these matches since 1991 or 92, I shot in most of them, and range officered as well.
It is well run, simple, yet challenging.
I really like the class system, it allows no sandbagging!!!! You are classed after the match, not before. The exception is a Master Glock shooter, once one, always one, and you can't win guns anymore.
The classing based on 100 shooters, to make it simple, everybody shoots heads up and then after the match, if you come in.
1 - 24th A class
25 - 49 B class
50 - 74 C class
75 - 100 D class
If I remember right 1st in your class - New Glock
2nd 100 bucks
3rd 75.00
4th and 5th 50.00
6th - 10th 25.00
There is also High senior, High lady, High law enforcement, High junior.
Also classes for compact,subcompact, competition models 34, 35, 24c 17l and unlimited.
But the match is built around 1st time competitors, If you have a Glock and 2 magazines, you can play, no holster, no mag pouches needed, a bag to carry your pistol and ammo around in is recommended. A couple of extra mags makes the loading process easier on the events like the falling plates. Ear and eye protection and your good to go.
We usually have 300 - 400 competitors over 2 days. Once you shoot your 1st stage your usually done in under 2 hrs.
In the past Glock donated 3 guns to the club, We had an RO drawing, you got your name in the hat twice for each day you worked, and We raffled the 3rd off for the club coffers. All 4 of my Glocks I won in the RO drawings.

If you've never shot competition or have a friend who has not, it's a good way to do it and not feel out equipmented.
